Kawasaki India has teased the Vulcan S, their middleweight cruiser offering on their official website.
The bike sports a traditional cruiser stance and riding position although the design language is modern and features muscular lines. It shares its underpinnings with the Ninja 650; however, the Vulcan S gets a longer rake and trail along with a low seat height.
It is powered by a retuned version of the 650cc parallel twin engine found on the Ninja 650. It produces 60.2bhp at 7500rpm and 62.78Nm of torque at 6600rpm via a six-speed gearbox. The Vulcan S sold in international markets gets ABS as an option but we expect the bike to sport ABS as standard here. The bike gets a three-way adjustable footpegs and handlebar to suit the height of the rider. It rides on telescopic front forks and a seven-way adjustable rear spring preload.
We can expect the Vulcan S to be priced around Rs 6.5 lakhs. The bike is expected to be launched by early 2018 and will go head on against the upcoming Royal Enfield 650 motorcycles and the Harley Davidson Street 750 in India.
