- Kawasaki India to launch a new product on 25 September
- Teaser released on company’s social media handles
- Likely to launch W 175 in the Indian market
Previously, Kawasaki India teased a new ‘W’ series motorcycle ahead of its launch in our market. Now, the company has confirmed via its social media handles that this new model will be launched in the Indian market on 25 September, 2022. While the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer is yet to reveal the product name, a leaked document has confirmed that the company will launch the W 175 in our market on the aforementioned date.
The W 175 is likely to become the most-affordable Kawasaki product in the Indian market. We expect this retro-style model to arrive in the Rs 1.5-2 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) price range and rival the likes of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin in India.
It will also be the smallest-displacement, road-legal motorcycle in Kawasaki India’s portfolio. The W 175 will be powered by a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine tuned to deliver 12.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The feature list on the international-spec model is bare-basic, and the India-bound W 175 is not expected to be much different.
The hardware, as seen in the leaked document, will include a double-cradle chassis, telescopic front forks, twin rear springs, a single 270mm petal-type rotor at the front, and a 110mm drum brake at the back.
