- To be available from Rs 1,47,000
- Will be sold in two options
- Premium variant to be priced at Rs 1,49,000
Kawasaki India is set to launch its most-affordable model, the W175, in our market on 25 September, 2022. However, the prices for this model have been leaked ahead of its launch and this Kawasaki product will be available from Rs 1,47,000 onwards.
The motorcycle will be offered in two options – Standard and Special Edition. The difference between the two options is limited to the paint themes. While the Standard variant will be available in Ebony paint option, the Special Edition will be sold in a bold Candy Persimmon Red colour. The latter will be available at a price premium of Rs 2,000 over the standard model.
This ex-showroom price tag will put the new Kawasaki W175 against the likes of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin in India. Once launched, the W175 will be the smallest-displacement, road-legal motorcycle in Kawasaki India’s portfolio. While the company is yet to list the motorcycle on its India website, leaked documents have confirmed that the W175 will use a BS6-compliant 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motor will be tuned to deliver a maximum output of 12.8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 13.2Nm at 6,000rpm.
The W175 is built around a double-cradle chassis and uses telescopic front forks and twin rear springs to handle the suspension tasks. The braking hardware comprises a single 270mm petal-type rotor at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the back. The feature list, too, is basic, and the Kawasaki W175 uses a halogen-type headlight and an analogue instrument cluster. The bookings of the motorcycle will open on 25 September, 2022 and the deliveries should commence soon after.
