Kawasaki India launched its latest offering, the W175 in India at Rs 1,47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s snatched the title of ‘the most affordable Kawasaki bike’ in India from the Ninja 300. If the new Kwacker doesn’t smite you, here are other options for a similar asking price.
Honda Hornet
The Honda Hornet is priced at Rs 1,35,274 (ex-showroom Delhi) and costs almost Rs 12,000 less than the Kawasaki W175. It’s powered by a 184.4cc single-cylinder motor with the output rated at 17.03 bhp and 16.1 Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. For reference, the W175 makes 12.8bhp and 13Nm. Moreover, the Honda offering also gets LED illumination, USD front forks, rear monoshock, and disc brakes at both ends with ABS and alloy wheels.
Suzuki Gixxer SF
Next up, you can also choose the Suzuki Gixxer SF. It retails at Rs 1,37,100 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 10,000 less expensive than the Kawasaki retro bike. Suzuki has plonked a 155cc single-cylinder engine that dishes out 13.4 bhp and 13.8 Nm. It gets a five-speed gearbox, a fully digital instrument console, single-channel ABS, and disc brakes at both ends.
Hero Xpulse 200 4V
In the mix of these alternatives, the Xpulse 200 4V has also made it to the list. With an asking price of Rs 1,37,496 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Xpulse offers quite a package. It houses a 199.6cc air-cooled mill tuned to develop 18.8bhp and 17.35Nm. The main highlight of the Xpulse 200 4V is its off-road capability. With its long travel suspension, spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose rubber, and purposeful built, the Xpulse makes for a commendable off-road bike for beginners as well as seasoned riders.
Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220
Bajaj offers the Avenger Cruise 220 at Rs 1,38,368 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s the Chakan-based manufacturer’s most powerful cruiser bike with a 220cc single-cylinder engine making 18.4 bhp and 17.55 Nm. Like the Kawasaki W175, the Avenger also rides on conventional telescopic forks, dual rear shocks, and spoked wheels. The Avenger Cruise 220 makes for a preferable tourer with a comfortable rider triangle. Aiding its touring capabilities are a large transparent windscreen, a spacious single-piece seat, and a backrest for the pillion.
Yamaha Aerox 155
Lastly, the Yamaha Aerox 155 can also be an alternative to the W175 at Rs 1,39,300 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s one of the current most affordable maxi-scooter on sale in India. The Aerox is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with VVA. Its output figures are 14.79 bhp and 13.9 Nm. On the feature front, the Yamaha scooter gets a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, ABS, auto start/stop, and an optional USB charging port.
