- Kawasaki issues recall for W800
- 1600 bikes affected
- No such recall announced in India
Kawasaki has issued a recall for the W800 and W800 Cafe modern-retro motorcycle in the USA to address a potentially faulty horn harness.
The recall affects a total of 1,660 W800s manufactured between 28 January 2019 and 15 February 2022. According to Kawasaki, the engine vibrations within a certain RPM could damage the harness, causing it to break. This could then result in the horns not functioning, posing as a safety hazard.
To rectify the issue, Kawasaki dealers will replace the horn, mounting bracket, and harness on the affected W800s, free of charge. That said, Kawasaki also retails the W800 in India, although no such recall has been announced as the motorcycle has been sold in the country only in limited numbers.
