- Kawasaki three-wheeled motorcycle under development
- Yamaha Niken has a range of such vehicles
- Will take 2-3 years for a concept
Kawasaki is planning to add an extra wheel and make a three-wheeled motorcycle. According to leaked patent designs, the Japanese maker is developing a three-wheeled motorcycle that can also lean.
This concept was made famous by Yamaha through its Niken brand. Yamaha has a range of it starting from 125cc all to the way to 847cc. Interestingly, the market responded quite well to this, and maybe that’s why Kawasaki wants to enter this segment.
According to the patent pictures, Kawasaki’s three-wheeled motorcycle is likely to have a sportier stance which suggests that it could become a track machine. The front suspension setup is different and doesn’t follow the same design as the one on the Yamaha trikes.
This trike from Kawasaki is still a few years away, but when it is revealed to the world, expect it to be class-leading. And we hope Kawasaki doesn’t go crazy with this motorcycle because if they do, then they might just plugin in a supercharger.
