- All-new Kawasaki Z H2 supernaked images leaked
- Will offer a similarly supercharged motor like the H2
- Official unveil on 23 October at Tokyo Motor Show
Just a day after Kawasaki released the third teaser for its upcoming supernaked, now christened 'Z H2', images of the same have been leaked revealing a lot of information. The new motorcycle is due for its official global unveil on 23 October at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.
The leaked images of the all-new Z H2 have been taken while the bike was strapped in its transportation box, just like any other CBU (Completely Built Unit) motorcycle shipped from the company. As revealed in the second teaser video, the front end features a twin-LED headlamp assembly similar to the Z1000 but more muscular in every sense. The edgy headlamp fairing is flanked by a petite windscreen to help deflect wind when the bike is being ridden at crazy fast speeds. The compact bikini fairing is also flanked by prominent winglets on either side which will be necessary to keep the nose down when doing triple digits.
The next image provides a view of the flat yet wide one-piece handlebar along with the new full-colour TFT instrument console and modern switchgear. The key FOB is located just ahead of the large fuel tank similar to other modern motorcycles. The fuel filler lid is also different following an edgy design. The third leaked image shows the tail section of the super naked showcasing the split-seat design, red graphics on the matte grey/black body panels and the obvious ‘Z H2’ badging on its tail. The motorcycle features clear lens LED turn indicators. Lastly, a part of the large single-sided exhaust canister is visible adorning a street finished heat shield.
The all-new Kawasaki Z H2 is likely to be powered by the same 998cc supercharged inline-four motor from the H2. However, being a naked, expect Kawasaki to tune the motor differently to better suit its character. On the H2, the same engine is rated to produce 197bhp of max power at 11,000rpm and 134Nm of peak torque at 10,500rpm.
Once officially unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, the Kawasaki Z H2 will lock horns against the likes of also-to-be-unveiled Ducati Streetfighter V4 at the 2020 Ducati World Premiere.
