A spy shot of a brand new entry-level model from Kawasaki has been leaked by a Thai website. Expected to be christened Z125, this motorcycle will mark Kawasaki’s entry in a very niche segment which is currently dominated by the Honda Grom.
Aesthetically, the Kawasaki Z125 looks very much like a shrunken Z800 thanks to the chiselled fuel tank and the edgy body panels. The frame is completely new and houses a new 125cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine. Despite being an entry-level model, the Z125 doesn’t skimp on premium features like USD front forks, rear monoshock and an underbelly exhaust. It gets disc brakes and alloy wheels at the front and rear. The elongated seat is supposed to seat two people, though it seems very unlikely that two full-sized adults will be able to fit in.
The spy shot shows that the Kawasaki Z125 will be available in at least two paint schemes – green and grey. We can expect it to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, later this month. The market for such motorcycles in India is non-existent and it is very unlikely that Kawasaki will take a chance of introducing the Z125 in India.
