Kawasaki’s middle-weight portfolio was recently joined by a new entrant, the Z650RS, in India. Unlike the modern-looking Z650 and Ninja 650, which have been in India for a long time, the Z650 RS offers an old-school charm. We recently got to ride the bike and you can read our detailed review here. In this post, let’s check out some of its most enchanting images from the review.
The Z650RS features a quintessential neo-retro design which turns a lot of heads on the road. The green colour options which we had, in particular, looks smashing with golden stripes on the tank and wheels.
The instrumentation is pretty simple with circular dials for analogue speedometer and tachometer along with an LCD unit sitting at the centre, showing all the crucial data.
The Z650RS offers neutral and upright ergonomics with a single-piece, pulled-back handlebar, spacious seat, and centre-set footpegs which make even long rides bearable.
Powering the Z650RS is the same engine that does duty on the Z650 and the Ninja 650. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and churns out 67.3bhp of power and 64Nm of peak torque.
It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with Dunlop Sportmax RoadSport tyres that lack grip and feedback. Damping duties are carried out by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.
Braking is handled by a pair of 300mm discs at the front and a single 220mm rotor at the back along with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle doesn’t get traction control or any other rider aid.
Kawasaki has priced the Z650RS at Rs 6.72 lakh which makes it around Rs 48,000 more expensive than the naked Z650. It doesn’t have a direct rival but the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 offers similar styling and displacement for a much lesser price.
