- Special 50th Anniversary Edition Z900 and Z650 debut
- Get unique paint scheme
- Could be introduced in India
It’s been 50 years since the Kawasaki Z1 made its global debut in 1972. So, to celebrate the occasion, Team Green has unveiled special, 50th Anniversary Editions of the Z900 and Z650.
Both motorcycles are adorned in the Firecracker Red paint scheme; the same livery in which the Z1100 GP was unveiled in and went on to become the staple colour from Kawasaki through the ‘80s. In addition to the red, the Z900 and Z650 also get white and black graphics similar to the iconic model. Moreover, the motorcycles also feature a gold ‘Kawasaki’ logo and 50th Anniversary emblems on the fuel tank.
However, the rest of the motorcycles remain the same. The Z650 comes powered by a 649cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 67.3bhp and 64Nm. Meanwhile, the bigger Z900 has been plonked with a 948cc, inline-four motor that is capable of producing 123bhp and 98Nm. Now, these special edition models will be available in Japan first before being offered to global markets. And we can expect Kawasaki to introduce them in India sometime this year in limited numbers.
