Kawasaki’s upcoming Z900-based retro motorcycle, the Z900 RS, has been rendered by a Dutch media house. The rendering is based upon the teasers released by the Japanese manufacturer.
The rendering shows a retro design language inspired by the Kawasaki Z1, a streetbike from the 1970s. However, the LED lamps, digital instrument console and the inverted front forks give it a modern touch. The Z900 RS will share its platform and the 948cc inline-four engine with the Z900. The rendering shows slight modifications to the subframe to accommodate the single-piece seat.
Reports suggest that the Z900 RS will also be available in a café racer guise, sitting above the standard bike. It will be unveiled tomorrow at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan. The Z900 RS will go up against modern classics like the BMW R nineT, Yamaha XSR900 and the Triumph Bonneville T100.
