- Gets higher-spec suspension and braking system
- Available in a single colour option
- Priced at 10,749 British pounds (Rs 10.88 lakh) in the UK
Kawasaki has revealed a premium variant of its naked roadster motorcycle, the Z900. Christened as the Z900 SE, this new variant of the Japanese roadster range benefits from higher-spec hardware such as adjustable front forks and an Ohlins-sourced S46 rear mono-shock.
The front forks feature compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability. The rear mono-shock can be adjusted for rebound damping and spring preload. The braking setup gets an upgrade too, and the Z900 SE benefits from stainless steel brake lines and Brembo M4.32 callipers with 300mm Brembo front brake discs.
Apart from the hardware, Kawasaki has also updated the motorcycle cosmetically, and the Z900 SE gets a special colour scheme. The roadster is available in a single colour option – Metallic Spark Black with Candy Lime Green. The Metallic Spark Black is used as the base while the highlights of Candy Lime Green are visible on the headlight mask, body panels, frame, and engine cowl.
The mechanical specifications remain unaltered, and the new Z900 SE continues to use a Euro5-compliant 948cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 123.64bhp at 9,500rpm and 98.6Nm of peak torque at 7,700rpm.
The new SE variant has been priced at 10,749 British pounds (Rs 10.88 lakh) as against 9,299 British pounds (Rs 9.42 lakh) for the standard model. The company already offers the standard Z900 in the Indian market, and we can see the SE variant on our shores in the future. However, the official details about the Indian launch of the Z900 SE are not available yet.
