We’re just a few days from the global debut of the Kawasaki Z900RS and things are already getting exciting. After two video teasers made its way to the internet world, there are now rumours of Kawasaki planning to introduce two versions of the Z900RS.
The Kawasaki Z900RS is based on the Z900 naked motorcycle. It is expected to get the same engine and frame, but the body work will be completely different to create its own identity. From the teasers, it’s clear that the Z900RS gets modern retro styling. So there are things like twin-chrome clocks, cast wheels, LED headlamp and indicators. Interestingly, the Z900RS gets radial brakes, which isn’t seen on the Z900.
According to a report, Kawasaki will introduce two versions of this bike – a base model that will help it compete directly with the BMW R nineT Pure and a top-spec variant which will get high quality and top of the line suspension, exhaust system and spoked rims. We’re expecting the Japanese manufacturer to offer a few different paint schemes on the top-spec variant. This will help the company differentiate both the bikes visually.
We’re expecting Kawasaki India to bring both the motorcycles to India soon after the global launch as completely-built-up(CBU) units. If these bikes are made in Thailand, expect it to have competitive pricing for the Indian market.
