- Keeway Iskia 125 launched in Europe
- Powered by 124cc, air-cooled engine
- No word about Indian launch yet
Chinese manufacturer Keeway has introduced a new scooter in the European market called the Iskia 125. The scooter will go up against the likes of the Suzuki Access and Burgman EX there. However, thanks to a retro styling similar to the Sixties 300i sold in India, the Keeway Iskia 125 competes against the Vespa and Lambrettas available in the international market.
The styling is boxy and edgy and would look like its rivals at a single glance. You have the Lambretta's long silhouette with the Vespa's headlamp. Keeway has also made sure to add chrome almost wherever possible. That said, the scooter does come with modern equipment like a disc brake at both ends, full-LED lighting and a semi-digital cluster. As for its performance, the Keeway Iskia 125 is powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder engine with 8bhp available. In comparison, the Suzuki Access churns out 8.6bhp and 10Nm while the Vespa produces 9.8bhp and 9.60Nm.
Now, there is no word about the Keeway Iskia 125 making its way to the Indian market. However, it would be a good fit since the company only has the Sixties 300i in its scooter line-up. An entry-level offering would add accessibility to the brand, even though it is likely to ask for a slightly premium pricing.
