The Hungarian brand Keeway has launched a new modern-classic offering, the SR250, at the 2023 Auto Expo. The motorcycle is targeted at the segment that’s currently occupied by the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin. So, is it good enough on paper to be a strong contender to its existing rivals? Let’s check out its specifications along with its pictures from the Auto Expo.
The SR250 is a typical modern-classic offering with minimalistic body panels boasting a round theme for its components like mirrors, headlamp, console, and fuel tank.
Many components of the SR250 speak of its scrambler intentions, such as the front fork gaiters, spoke wheels, block-pattern tyres, chopped fenders, and a single-piece seat with a ribbed pattern.
The motorcycle will be available in three colour options including Glossy Red and Glossy White for those who prefer vibrant shades and Glossy Black for riders who want an understated-looking bike.
On the feature front, it comes equipped with a halogen headlamp, LED tail lamp, a digital instrument cluster, a 14.2-litre fuel tank, and dual-channel ABS.
Powering the motorcycle is a 223cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces around 16bhp of peak power and 16Nm of torque along with a five-speed gearbox.
Weighing 120kg (dry), the SR250 offers 160mm of ground clearance with telescopic forks and preload-adjustable dual springs. Braking is handled by a 300mm disc up front and a 210mm rotor at the rear.
Online bookings for the Keeway SR250 have already commenced online for Rs 2,000 and deliveries and test rides will begin from April 2023 onwards. It is priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
