- Based on the same platform as Vieste 300
- Gets KYB suspension and J.Juan brakes
- India launch unlikely
The Hungarian brand Keeway, which is now owned by the China-based Qianjiang Group, recently hopped on the globally maturing adventure scooter trend and launched the Vieste 300 XDV. That name might sound familiar to you since Keeway sells the road-going version of the scooter in India, of which we did the road test review in August last year.
The platform on which the XDV is based is the same as the standard Vieste 300. However, the visuals are not even close to being similar. Typical of adventure scooters, the Vieste 300 XDV boasts a rugged and muscular bodywork. The wide and chunky front apron sports a pointed nose flanked by LED lights on both sides and crowned by a tall windscreen and a motorcycle-like exposed handlebar. At the centre, there are footrest provisions along with a stepped, single-piece seat accompanied by chunky grab rails. Complementing its radical styling are multiple modern features like full-LED lighting and a large LCD console with a USB charging port.
Same as the Vieste 300, the XDV rides on 13-inch wheels. However, the latter is suspended by more premium upside-down forks up front and dual springs at the rear, both being sourced from KYB. The suspension travel stands at 90mm and 65mm at the front and back, respectively. As for the braking setup, there’s a single petal-type disc at both ends with J.Juan callipers. Further, powering the scooter is a 278cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.4bhp and 22Nm and comes mated to a CVT transmission.
Although the arrival of the XDV to the Indian shores is unlikely as of now, Keeway does sell the Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i in our country with prices starting from Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
