- Kramer Motorcycles has developed GP2 race bike
- It is based on the KTM 790 Duke
- It will be available in two variants — trackday and GP2 race spec
Kramer Motorcycles has developed a race-spec bike based on the KTM 790 Duke. Built to compete in the British GP2 racing event from 2020, the motorcycle will be showcased at the Barber Motorsports Park Vintage Festival, Alabama which is set to take place this week.
Powering the motorcycle is the KTM 790 Duke’s 799cc parallel-twin motor clinging on to an all-new tubular steel frame. The engine develops 105PS and 87Nm. The GP2 race bike weighs around 135kg, which is much lighter than the 169kg 790 Duke. In order to make the motorcycle more racing-oriented, Kramer Motorcycles has redesigned the KTM 790 Duke’s swingarm along with a specially designed WP suspension.
The company will have two versions of the bike on offer — a trackday variant and a pure GP2 race bike. The former is for track riding enthusiasts and the company says it will be priced lesser than the hardcore race bike. It will also weigh slightly heavier, with the scales tipping at around 140kg. The prices of the motorcycles have not been revealed yet.
