- KTM 125 Duke is now priced at Rs 1,31,731
- RC 125 is now pegged at Rs 1,47,981
- Price of the 125 Duke hiked for the fourth time
KTM has hiked the prices of its entry-level offerings, the 125 Duke and the RC 125, in India. While the former now costs Rs 1,31,731, the latter retails at Rs 1,47,981 (ex-showroom, Patna). This is a hike of Rs 2,246 and Rs 1,536, respectively, over the previous pricing. As of now, dealers in Patna and a few other cities have started quoting the new pricing while it will come into effect in all the remaining cities shortly.
It’s worth noting that this is the fourth time KTM has increased the price of the 125 Duke. The motorcycle was launched in India in November 2018 at Rs 1.18 lakhs. Since then, the most significant hike was witnessed in June when it became dearer by Rs 5,000. As for the RC 125, the motorcycle was introduced in June this year and the launch price was addressed as introductory.
On contacting KTM, we came to know that the price hike for both bikes is owing to the increase in manufacturing costs. Meanwhile, for the RC 125, it is also a post-introductory pricing revision. As per the dealers, the 125cc twins have been witnessing a high demand as compared to other KTM models in India. The same has been evident from the sales figures of the 125 Duke which has been outselling its arch-rival, the Yamaha MT 15, over the last few months.
The KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 are powered by the same 124.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. This mill churns out 14.3bhp and 12Nm while it comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Although both the bikes differ in terms of body style, they share the same premium cycle parts borrowed from their 200cc and 390cc siblings.
In terms of competition, the KTM 125 Duke goes up against the Yamaha MT 15 while the RC 125 locks horns with the Yamaha YZF R15 V3.
