- KL Duel 125 makes debut in Italy
- Will compete against KTM 125 Duke and Yamaha MT125
- Gets Ducati Streetfighter-inspired styling
The 125cc motorcycle segment is gaining popularity in Europe. According to stats, the surge happened post the pandemic in 2020 with younger buyers getting into motorcycling. Well, cashing in on the hype is Italian brand KL which has launched its beginner-friendly offering- the Duel 125 in Europe.
Now the KL Duel 125 goes head-on against other 125cc motorcycles like the KTM 125 Duke, Yamaha MT125 and the Honda CB125R. Similar to these offerings, the Duel 125 is powered by a 125cc engine that churns out a decent 13bhp and 10.85Nm. As for features, the motorcycle sports LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster and CBS as standard. It rides on upside-down forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear.
While these are pretty standard kits for the modern 125cc segment, the KL Duel 125 features quirky styling. The fuel tank is muscular and edgy, it features a split-seat setup with a raised rear section that is sharp too. Adding character is the number plate holder integrated into the tyre hugger. However, the cherry on the cake is the front end. KL Motors seems to have left no stone unturned while drawing inspiration from the Ducati Streetfighter V4 and equipping the Duel 125 with what looks like the same headlamp.
With that said, the KL Duel 125 will not make it to Indian shores. Although if you’re looking for beginner friendly motorcycles, there are options like the KTM 125 Duke and the Yamaha MT-15 here.
