KTM has officially revealed the photos of its upcoming 1290 Super Duke GT. While the bike still wears the camouflage, it is the production version that will be unveiled at the 2015 EICMA show.
Built on the same 1290 Super Duke R platform, the Super Duke GT has been tweaked to suit the touring nature. It gets a wider seat and the rear subframe is longer and lower as compared to the naked. The Super Duke GT gets a big windscreen that will help the rider during long distance rides. The exhaust shield is black and the frame has a mix of orange and black colour.
It’s obvious that the 1290 Super Duke GT will get the same 1301cc LC8 powerplant. However, the power figures will be re-tuned to suit the bike's performance and also to meet the Euro 4 regulations. When it comes to the latest technologies, the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT will be packed with many features. It will get heated grips, semi active suspension with four modes, cruise control and quick-shifter as standard. It will also have three riding modes - Sport, Street and Rain. There is a high possibility of it getting Bosch's MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) cornering ABS system, which will feature four settings - Street, Sport, Rain and Supermoto. Other than this, the bike could also get the hill start feature called Hill Hold Control (HHC) and a system called Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) which improves engine braking when climbing.
We are quite excited to see this bike in person. Unfortunately, this bike won’t make it to the Indian market. Nevertheless, we will still bring you more updates on this motorcycle when it is unveiled at the 2015 EICMA.
