KTM’s upcoming tourer – the 1290 Super Duke GT has been spotted testing again. But this time, the engineers from Austria had two test mules at their disposal.
Based on the proven 1290 Super Duke platform, the Super Duke GT will take the 990 SMT spot, which was discontinued almost 18 months ago. Cosmetically, we can see the Austrian manufacturer has put in a lot of effort, to give the bike a proper touring aspect. Things like large windscreen, taller handlebars are seen on one of the prototypes.
The 1290 Super Duke GT will sit between the insanely powerful 1290 Super Duke and the 1290 Super Adventure. In terms of mechanicals, the 1290 Super Duke GT will get the same 1301cc V-Twin mill that produces 158bhp. However, we can expect the power figures to be slightly tuned for the bike’s touring nature.
We are expecting KTM to unveil the 1290 Super Duke GT at the upcoming 2015 EICMA show. Just like the other two Super Dukes, this motorcycle is sure to attract lot of attention in the KTM arena.
