KTM has issued a recall for its most power motorcycle – the 1290 Super Duke R for an issue related to the motorcycles fuel tank.
The Austrian manufacturer said that due to deviations in manufacturing processes, an internal overflow pipe within the bike’s fuel tank may not be completely enclosed within its plastic sheath and could result in fuel penetrating a threaded insert which could lead to fuel leaking in small quantities.
As per the company, around 248 models have been affected in UK, all which have been manufactured from 2014. KTM is in the process of contact its affected customers, who will be asked to book an appointment with the nearest dealer. This issue will be sorted by the company at no extra cost. While the Indian consumers have been enjoying smaller KTMs for the last three years, we would love to see the 1290 Super Duke and the 1290 Super Adventure in India in the next few years. My team mate, Venkat is surely going to go crazy when they arrive in India.
