- Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 revealed
- Based on KTM 200 Duke
- Launch expected by 2021
Bajaj recently shocked us by unveiling the HusqvarnaSvartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250. Interestingly, the Swedish brand has decided to go much lower in the displacement game by revealing the Svartpilen 200.
The company has updated its official website with the new motorcycle. Just like the 250s, the Svartpilen 200 is based on a KTM. This 200cc modern retro bike gets its cycle parts from the KTM 200 Duke. The Svartpilen 200 is powered by a 200cc single-cylinder 26bhp motor that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The suspension and the braking system have been borrowed from the 200 Duke as well.
Just like on the Svartpilen 250, the Svartpilen 200 gets alloy wheels and not the spoke wheels that is seen on the bigger 401s. This has been done to keep costs in check. The exhaust is different too. All the body panels are identical to the 250 version that was unveiled last weekend.
We can expect Bajaj to launch the Svartpilen 200 by 2021. The 250cc version will be launched next February, and we believe the Pune-based manufacturer will give that bike some space to perform. If the sales start to dwindle, we can expect the Svartpilen 200 to be sold in India earlier than expected.
