KTM 200 Duke to be updated soon in India

- KTM is likely to bring the updated 200 Duke by the start of 2020

- Could get plusher suspension and more comfortable seat

Besides launching the 790 Duke in India, KTM also revealed that its longest-running model, the 200 Duke, will receive updates in the coming months. Sumeet Narang, the president of Probiking, Bajaj, has said that the updated 200cc streetbike is due to be updated during mid-term which could be suspected as the initial months of 2020. 

The 200 Duke is KTM’s first motorcycle in India which was launched in 2012. The updates it has received in over-six years of its life cycle has always been minor, mostly related to graphics. However, the 200 Duke retained its popularity and was the best-selling KTM offering until the 125 Duke was launched. Although the 200 Duke is still a modern and enticing proposition, it feels dated due to the lack of major changes. 

Now, the information about the upgrades KTM might give to the 200 Duke is scarce at the moment. However, it has been hinted to be inclined towards a more comfortable ride which might include plusher suspension and cushier and wider seat. As for the styling, it is still uncertain if the changes will be major or minor but something inspired by the 250 and 390 Duke would make much sense. 

The KTM 200 Duke currently sits between the RC 125 and the RC 200 sportsbikes. It is priced at Rs 1.62 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes up against the Suzuki Gixxer 250, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200.
