- KTM 250 Adventure now cheaper by Rs 25,000
- Priced at Rs 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Limited period price drop
In a surprising move, KTM has slashed the price of the 250 Adventure in India by around Rs 25,000. As a result, the motorcycle now costs Rs 2.30 lakh, as against its previous price of Rs 2.55 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). Although official confirmation is yet to arrive from KTM, our sources have revealed that the price drop is for a limited period.
Most likely, the main reason for the price reduction is the low sales of the 250 Adventure in India. While it was already launched with quite a steep price tag, the recent hikes made it even more expensive. Meanwhile, the 250cc segment itself has been witnessing a substantial price reduction lately. It started with the Yamaha FZ 25 followed by the Bajaj Dominar 250 as both witnessed a price drop in the ballpark of Rs 16,000-20,000.
With the new pricing, the price gap between the 250 Adventure and the 250 Duke has been substantially narrowed. The former is now only Rs 8,000 dearer than the latter. This will surely compel the 250 Duke buyers to spend a little extra and go for the more versatile 250 Adventure.
The 250 Adventure carries a design and hardware nearly identical to its bigger sibling, the 390 Adventure. It is powered by a 248.8cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 29.5bhp and 24Nm of peak torque. It rides on a 19-17-inch alloy wheel combination shod with block pattern tyres. The suspension setup comprises inverted forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends. With a 14.5-litre fuel tank, the kerb weight of the 250 ADV stands at 177kg.
