KTM 250 Adventure: What else can you buy?

KTM recently launched its entry-level ADV, the 250 Adventure, in India. It is the smaller displacement and more accessible version of the 390 Adventure. The Austrian bike maker has priced the bike at Rs 2.48 lakh (ex-showroom) and we tell you what else is worth considering around the similar price range.

KTM 390 Duke: Rs 2.58 lakh

Around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the 250 ADV is the KTM 390 Duke, which is one of the best value for money propositions in this segment. It sports an aggressive styling inspired by the flagship 1290 Super Duke. The motorcycle scores high on features with things like Bluetooth-enabled TFT screen and a quick shifter. The real showpiece is the 373.3cc, single-cylinder engine which makes as much as 43bhp and 37Nm.

BMW G 310 R: Rs 2.45 lakh

If you want a motorcycle from a brand as premium as BMW, the G 310 R is its entry-level product. It’s also less frantic than the 390 Duke with a 313cc, 33.5bhp, 28Nm motor which is friendly and produces power linearly. With the BS6 update, it received LED lighting all around along with three new eye-catchy colour options in the palette.

TVS Apache RR 310: Rs 2.48 lakh

The TVS Apache RR 310 is the fully-faired cousin of the BMW G 310 R as both pack the same engine with slight internal variations. The RR 310 is another product which can give you the best bang for your buck with a fairly torquey 313cc engine and features similar to higher-end bikes. It gets a ride-by-wire throttle with as many as four riding modes (sport, track, urban and rain). There’s a large TFT screen with Bluetooth-connectivity and different themes while the presence of GTT (glide through tech) makes riding it in traffic a breeze.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650Rs 2.67 lakh-2.88 lakh

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is India’s most affordable motorcycle with a parallel-twin cylinder engine. Its 648cc mill churns out 46.8bhp and 52Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. This engine has refinement and smoothness in abundance with vibes close to none. Meanwhile, it also offers a charming retro styling which is typical of an RE with multiple paint schemes to choose from.
