KTM 250 Duke launched in India at Rs 1.73 lakh

KTM has launched a new addition to its Duke lineup in India – the 250 Duke.  This quarter-litre streetfighter has been positioned between the 200 Duke and the 390 Duke, at Rs 1.73 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

The 250 Duke draws inspiration from KTM’s new design philosophy with a sharper headlamp integrating LED strips and edgier bodywork. The loud paint scheme and exposed frame further accentuates the 250 Duke’s raw appeal. The 250 Duke is underpinned by the same single-cylinder platform as the 390 Duke. It is built around a steel trellis frame with the single-cylinder engine as a stressed member. The engine displaces 248.8cc and delivers nearly 30bhp and 24Nm of torque through a six-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch as standard. it also gets the 2017 390 Duke's larger fuel tank, at 13.5 litres.

Like the rest of the Duke range, the 250 Duke rides on 43mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock, both supplied by WP suspension. Braking hardware consists of 300mm front and 230mm rear disc brake with ByBre callipers. While the new 390 Duke gets a colour TFT display, the 250 Duke has to make do with the older orange-backlit digital console. 

The 250 Duke is offered in the new 'electronic orange' paint with a lot more black than the 390 Duke, as well as a white paint scheme. It shares market space with the Mahindra Mojo, Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Benelli TNT 25.

The new range of Dukes for India was launched today, including the 2017 390 Duke and the 2017 200 Duke.
