KTM India launched its updated line-up recently and it includes the new 390 Duke as well as the 250 Duke. We’ve already listed the 390’s highlights in our previous story and now, here are the five things that you should know about the updated quarter-litre Duke.
New design
Similar to the new 390 Duke, the updated 250 Duke has also received a revised design. It features a much funkier bodywork and looks more aggressive than before. The headlight has been altered and the fuel tank shrouds are larger than before. Even the rider and pillion seats have been revised to offer more space and better ergonomics.
Updated engine
With the new and updated engine, the KTM 250 Duke now houses a 248cc motor that gets a tweaked cylinder head and gearbox with a larger airbox. It dishes out 29.5bhp and 25Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
More features
KTM has offered the 250 Duke with full LED illumination, ride-by-wire, slipper clutch, quickshifter, and a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch LCD console. The latter allows you to play music, receive calls, and access navigation as well.
Better hardware
The updated motor is situated in a new trellis frame with a die-cast aluminium sub-frame and a lighter swingarm. It’s suspended on revised USD front forks and an offset monoshock. The braking hardware comprises new and lighter front and rear discs with dual-channel ABS. These are mounted on lighter 17-inch wheels wrapped in MRF tyres.
Higher asking price
Even with all these updates, KTM has managed to price the new 250 Duke at Rs. 2.39 lakh, ex-showroom, which is similar to what the older model costs. It rivals the Suzuki Gixxer 250, BMW G 310 R, and the TVS Apache RTR 310.
