- KTM to launch the 390 Adventure in India tomorrow
- Select dealers are accepting bookings at Rs 10,000
- Expected to be priced around Rs 3-3.2 lakhs (ex-showroom)
After globally unveiling the 390 Adventure at the 2019 EICMA show in November, KTM is now all set to launch the motorcycle in India tomorrow, 6 December. The Austrian bike maker will introduce the bike at India’s largest motorcycle event, India Bike Week, in Goa. Select KTM dealers have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the 390 Adventure at Rs 10,000. The company is likely to price the motorcycle around Rs 3-3.2 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The 390 Adventure shares its powerplant with the 390 Duke, which is a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. This mill produces 43bhp and 37Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with slipper clutch. In terms of hardware, KTM has equipped the bike with components which make it more adventure-friendly. This includes larger a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel which are shod with dual-purpose tyres. It also gets higher ground clearance and longer travel suspension setup – inverted forks up front with 170mm of travel and a rebound and preload adjustable monoshock at the rear with 177mm of travel.
The 390 Adventure borrows all the features from the 390 Duke including a Bluetooth-enabled full-colour TFT screen, all-LED lighting and dual-channel ABS with ‘Supermoto’ mode (deactivates ABS for the rear wheel). Interestingly, it also gets traction control system which is unheard of in this segment. Furthermore, the 390 ADV incorporates a tall windscreen, sump guard and a larger 14.5 litre fuel tank.
Once launched, the KTM 390 Adventure will compete against other entry-level adventure motorcycles in India which includes the BMW G 310 GS and the Kawasaki Versys X-300.
