- KTM 390 Adventure Powerparts package revealed
- Comprises of touring and adventure-oriented accessories
- Likely to be introduced in India
KTM is all set to launch the 390 Adventure at this year’s India Bike Week event in Goa. While we are eagerly looking forward to its official launch, the Austrian bike maker has revealed a bunch of accessories for the motorcycle on its global website. Introduced under the brand’s official Powerparts package, the list includes accessories meant for making the bike more adventure and touring-friendly. Interestingly, these components are also expected to be available in India. With no further ado, let’s dive into what all this package has on offer.
Akrapovic exhaust
KTM has introduced the popular Akrapovic slip-on exhaust for the 390 Adventure which is known for delivering a sweet-sounding exhaust note. It is comparatively lighter than the stock end can with lesser restriction for exhaust gases.
Automatic clutch
This is one interesting after-market component on offer. The automatic clutch, sourced from Rekluse, allows the rider to halt and get going the bike without using the clutch, regardless of which gear is engaged. It is fitted with the stock clutch setup. The Rekluse clutch would be a boon to have in traffic and during off-road riding.
Headlight guard
Made up of Makrolon polycarbonate, this headlight cover, according to the company, is a highly durable covering which protects the headlamp from external damages. Moreover, it does not restrict the illumination of the headlamp.
Crash bungs
Crash bungs are mounted at the bottom of the front forks in order to protect them from any damages due to a hard impact during crashes.
Adjustable clutch and brake levers
Besides being adjustable for reach from the handlebar, these clutch and brake lever assemblies also get foldable end levers in order to prevent them from breaking in an event of a fall. The black colour levers get contrasting orange-coloured adjustment dials.
Single-piece seat
This flat seat is like those on motocross and dirt bikes which are especially helpful during trail riding. The narrow and flat design provides enough room to move back and forth. The stock seat setup on the 390 Adventure is split-type.
Taller windscreen
A taller windscreen aids in deflecting wind away from the rider while riding on the highway which reduces the rider fatigue.
Wave disc brake
Similar to a petal disc, a wave disc allows quicker heat dissipation by reducing the brake fade effect. KTM offers these discs for front and rear wheels both.
Handlebar pad
This handlebar pad is useful in protecting the rider’s face/head in an event of a hard landing or crash during off-roading. Besides this protective usage, it also gets a small pocket for storing small items.
Rear bag and panniers
For the touring buffs, the accessory list also comprises of KTM Powerparts-branded rear bag and panniers (hard and soft both). These bags are claimed to be light weight and weather-proof.
Smartphone mounting kit
This smartphone mounting kit allows the rider to securely mount his smartphone on the handlebar. It is available in three sizes depending on popular smartphone models.
Brake lock
Lastly, for added security of the motorcycle, KTM has also listed an anti-theft brake lock kit sourced from Roadlok. This lock mechanism comes with a pin which needs to be inserted and locked in one of the disc holes, making the bike immobile.
