KTM has imported two motorcycles, codenamed KT22 from Austria for research and development purposes. While the exact names of the models haven’t been updated on the website, we believe that it is the upcoming 390 Adventure.
In the import declared information, the engine capacity of the motorcycles has been mentioned as 374cc, which is basically the same engine that’s on the RC390 and the 390 Duke. The other interesting aspect is that this is the first time the ‘KT22’ codename has been revealed and other than the 390 Adventure motorcycle, we haven’t been expecting any other motorcycles in the 390cc displacement category.
Cosmetically, we are expecting the 390 Adventure to be very different from the other 390 siblings. While the naked and the super sport have been inspired from the bigger Duke and the RC8 models, we will see a new design language for the 390 Adventure. Mechanically, it will get the same engine but we are expecting the engine to be retuned for better low-end torque.
KTM might unveil the production version of the 390 Adventure at the upcoming 2015 EICMA show. While KTM was absent from the 2014 Auto Expo, we are expecting the Indian arm to be present at the 2016 Auto Expo.
