KTM India recently introduced two new variants of the 390 Adventure; a more affordable X trim, and a low-seat V variant. While the KTM 390 Adventure X misses out on a few features, the 390 Adventure V gets a different rear suspension. That said, KTM continues to sell the standard model alongside the two new variants. So, which one should you buy? Let’s take a look at all three versions.
KTM 390 Adventure X
The 390 Adventure X is the most affordable version, priced at Rs. 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). For almost Rs. 58,000 less, you miss out on features like a bi-directional quick-shifter, cornering ABS, traction control system, and a colour TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity. However, the X trim comes loaded with LED illumination, an LCD instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS with Supermoto ABS. The KTM 390 Adventure X is available in two paint schemes – Galactic Blue and Dark Galvano Black.
KTM 390 Adventure V (Low Seat)
The V trim is the low seat version of the standard 390 Adventure, which comes with a seat height of 834mm against 855mm on the standard model. This has been achieved by using a new rear mono-shock that offers different spring rates and preload. That said, KTM claims that the suspension travel and ground clearance remains unchanged.
The KTM 390 Adventure V is priced close to the standard variant, at Rs. 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Unlike the X variant, it continues to get all the electronic rider aids like quickshifter+, traction control system, and cornering ABS. It also receives a colour TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.
KTM 390 Adventure (standard)
The standard model, unlike the other two trims, gets the complete set of features and comes with a seat height of 855mm. It is priced at Rs. 3.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and is suited for taller riders who don’t have an issue with the 855mm seat height.
All three variants of the KTM 390 Adventure come powered by a 373.27cc, liquid-cooled motor that makes 42.9bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox, while an assist-and-slipper clutch is standard.
Which one should you buy?
So, which version among the three should you buy? Well, if you are on a tighter budget and don’t care much about the advanced rider aids, then you should definitely consider the KTM 390 Adventure X as it offers immense bang for your buck. On the other hand, if your height is on the shorter side of the scale, you should go with the low seat variant as it is comfortable and easier to ride in daily traffic. One should choose the standard model only if they are taller than six feet, as they won’t have an issue with tip-toeing the bike and the motorcycle won’t feel cramped.
