KTM India recently launched an affordable version of the 390 Adventure, X, which is priced at Rs. 2,80,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The lower asking price has resulted in omissions from the features list. However, there are other motorcycles as well in this price bracket, and we’ve listed the top five options below.
Honda CB300R
The Honda CB300R costs Rs. 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It features a neo-retro design and gets a round headlight, muscular fuel tank, and sleek rear profile. Honda has powered the CB300R with a 286cc single-cylinder engine dishing out 30.7bhp and 27.5Nm. It’s linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch. The CB300R features LED illumination and an LCD with an odometer, speedometer, trip meter, tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel level display, and more. This bike is lauded for its handling, light weight, strong mid-range performance, and reliable braking setup.
QJ Motor SRC500
With an asking price of Rs. 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the QJ Motor SRC500 is a retro-styled motorcycle. It takes inspiration from the Benelli Imperiale 400 for its design and features a round headlight, dual-pod instrument console, and spoke wheels. However, it gets a slightly larger engine of 480cc, which develops 25.3bhp at 5,750rpm and a peak torque of 36Nm at 4,250rpm. The SRC500’s styling is quite aspirational and even the ride quality is quite comfortable, which adds to the user experience. Not to mention, the paint quality is also up to the mark and very likeable.
TVS Apache RR 310
The TVS Apache RR 310 costs Rs. 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and is a very popular bike in its segment. Moreover, TVS has updated it in terms of features and hardware over the last few iterations. The Apache RR 310 has a 312.2cc motor and belts out 33.5bhp and 27.3Nm. It even gets an extensive list of features, like LED illumination, TFT display, ABS, smartphone connectivity, document storage, over-speed warning, ride-by-wire, riding modes, and more. Moreover, you can buy the bike with two different kits – Dynamic and Race. The former comes with fully-adjustable KYM front forks, a rear monoshock, and an anti-rust brass-coated drive chain. Meanwhile, the Race kit gets a race-ergo handlebar, raised footrests, and knurled footpegs. However, both kits demand an additional premium.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 costs Rs. 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It gets café-racer-styling and the bike looks gorgeous. Moreover, it is one of the most affordable multi-cylinder bikes and is powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled mill belting out 47bhp and 52Nm. Meanwhile, the hardware and feature list are pretty traditional like all existing offerings from Royal Enfield. Thus, you get telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks with a front and rear disc brake.
BMW G 310 GS
At Rs. 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the BMW G 310 GS is the arch-rival to the KTM ADV. It houses a 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor linked to a six-speed gearbox and develops 33.52bhp and 28Nm. The G 310 GS features LED illumination, a fully digital instrument console, and dual-channel ABS. The Bavarian ADV is suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock setup, while the braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc brake.
