Here is a picture of what looks to be the upcoming KTM 390 Duke on test. This spy shots confirms the previous image leak which was apparently shot at the Bajaj factory. We began reporting about a refreshed KTM Duke being in the works back in December and here it is in near production ready form.
The motorcycle was also disclosed in spy shots from Spain last month. But, this new image of the test mule does have a few revealing details. The upcoming Duke hosts major visual changes including a reshaped fuel tank and side panels, and updated seat unit, large instrument cluster and a reworked subframe. The side panels, a new addition, look considerably lengthy and keep the edgy styling of the motorcycle intact. This new image also reveals the new headlight, which could be a slotted multibeam unit something similar to the one on the latest spy shot of the Bajaj Pulsar CS400.
Beneath the mini-Superduke styling, reports suggest there’s also a host of engine updates to the 390 model to meet new Euro-4 regulations. The single-cylinder engine has been reworked to give a more stable combustion and more efficient fuel delivery with the latest engine management systems not only giving more power but also increased fuel economy.
Similar to the current international Duke model line-up, expect to see a lot of these changes on the Duke 125, 200 and 250 as well. As reports suggest, we will likely see this completely reworked Duke hit the market sometime in 2017. Also expect this mini-Superduke to be priced marginally higher than the outgoing model.
