•Gets the same styling as the Enduro R
•Unlikely to be launched in India
•Features LED illumination, a new TFT and more
Along with the 390 Enduro R, KTM has also taken the veils off the 390 SMC R. The latter is a supermoto offering that shares its styling with the Enduro but differs in terms of the hardware.
The KTM 390 SMC R too gets the same flat LED headlight with the cowl, a raised fender, a flat single-piece seat, a tubular handlebar, angular bodywork with tank extensions, and small side panels.
What separates the KTM 390 SMC R from the 390 Enduro R is its road-oriented tyres and wheels. The SMC uses proper sticky rubber with probable 17-inch conventional wheels. Apart from that, it appears to use the same hardware as the Enduro R.
Powering the KTM 390 SMC R is likely to be the same 399cc engine as the 390 Duke. It uses liquid cooling and gets a six-speed gearbox. The power figures are yet to be revealed. We expect KTM to offer its newly debuted 8.8-inch horizontal colour TFT on the 390 SMC R as well.
The braking duties are done by a single front and rear disc whereas the suspension setup comprises WP USD front forks and a monoshock.
KTM is unlikely to bring the 390 SMC R to India as well, just like the Enduro given its limited use-case.
