KTM North America has issued a recall of certain 2019-2020 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R motorcycles over a faulty rear brake. A total of 3,164 units, manufactured between 14 February 2019 and 2 December 2019, are affected by this recall.
The recall report states that the rear brake hose may overheat, causing the rear brake system to fail, which could result in a crash or injury. The company added that it is necessary to replace the brake line that leads from the rear brake calliper to the ABS modulator. A new rear brake line with a longer metal fitting has been developed to improve heat transfer. KTM further stated in the recall notice that it is also necessary to replace the round head Torx screw on the rear brake lever with a new screw.
KTM is notifying all registered owners of affected motorcycles by mail. The customer must take the letter along with the affected motorcycle to an authorized KTM Dealer to get the affected parts replaced.
