Austrian bike manufacturer KTM has revealed the range-topping 790 Adventure R Rally aimed at hardcore enthusiasts. The motorcycle is on a limited run with production numbers limited to 500 units worldwide, thus making it an instant collector’s model in the middle-weight adventure motorcycle market.
While the 790 Adventure R is no slouch when it comes to intense off-roading, the Rally takes the game a step ahead with top of the line cycle parts and with a unique graphics package. Starting with the chassis, the 790 Adventure R Rally features the identical trellis chassis bolted with the same 799cc LC8c parallel-twin mill registering 95bhp. However, for cycle parts, the motorcycle comes equipped with top-spec XPLOR PRO inverted forks up front offering 30mm of additional travel apart from a larger damping performance range and improved ride quality. The rear also gets an XPLOR PRO shock absorber unit with progressive damping in order to match itwith the performance of the front forks. The upgraded setup has resulted in an increase in seat height which is now set at 910mm.
Besides that, KTM has also equipped the 790 Adventure R Rally with a lighter Akrapovic exhaust can, carbon fibre tank protectors and Quickshifter plus. Other bits include narrow rims with tubes, a straight racing saddle and bigger rally footpegs, all adding up to better comfort and stability while standing up. In order to differentiate the 790 Adventure R Rally from the other variants, it gets special graphics livery, clear windscreen and winglets.
With prices yet to be announced, we expect KTM to declare the same during the upcoming 2019 EICMA motor show in November. Expect all of the limited edition 790 Adventure R Rally models to be sold out in the international market shortly after the official prices are announced.
