- KTM 790 Adventure spotted at Bajaj’s plant in India
- Base variant of the motorcycle spotted
- India launch details unavailable yet
The KTM 790 Adventure was reportedly photographed at Bajaj’s Chakan plant near Pune. The base variant of the middleweight adventure tourer was previously seen at the 2019 India Bike Week, although the Austrian manufacturer did not reveal any launch plans for the Indian market. The company is yet to reveal any plans to expand its product portfolio in the Indian market.
An online presentation had revealed that the company plans to manufacture the 790 Duke and the 790 Adventure in China. Thus, the motorcycle, if launched in India, could arrive via the knocked-down route and get assembled at Bajaj’s factory. Regular readers would know that Bajaj Auto had signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to construct a new factory. This new factory, which is expected to be operational by 2023, will most likely be dedicated to premium motorcycles.
The 790 Adventure uses a 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 79bhp of maximum power. The motorcycle features a rugged design along with features such as full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and several electronic rider aids. These include multiple riding modes, switchable ABS, and lean-angle sensitive traction control system.
Do note that the 790 Adventure has been replaced by the 890 Adventure series in several international markets. The 790 Adventure could be sold in developing markets to offer the motorcycle at a competitive price tag.
