- KTM 790 Duke production version spied
- To be launched in India soon
- It is expected to be priced around Rs 8-8.5 lakhs
KTM’s highly-awaited offering, the 790 Duke has been spotted on test in Bengaluru, India.
The bike was fitted with a saree and engine guard along with a temporary number plate suggesting that it is a production model and would be launched in the country soon. KTM will bring the 790 Duke to India via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and is expected to price it aggressively. We can expect the price to undercut its biggest rival, the Triumph Street Triple RS by a considerable margin and cost around Rs 8-8.5 lakhs, ex-showroom.
The 790 Duke is powered by a 799cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor that produces 105bhp of max power and 86Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch. In terms of features, the 790 Duke is equipped with a TFT instrument console, bi-directional quick-shifter, lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, launch and wheelie control and riding modes.
KTM is expected to offer the 790 Duke in two colour schemes of orange and black. And apart from the Triumph Street Triple RS it will go head-on against the Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821 and the Yamaha MT-09 in India.
