KTM India launched its 890 range recently in the country and the list comprises the Duke and the Adventure. While we have already listed the five things you know about the 890 Duke R, here is the same for the 890 Adventure R.
Design
The KTM 890 Adventure R follows a similar design approach as the 1290 Adventure. However, it is notably lighter, with a tall stance and rugged build. Moreover, like the 890 Duke R, this one has a split LED headlight with a pair of boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The setup is topped by a visor, and the bike has a thoroughbred ADV structure.
Features
Along with the LED headlight, the KTM 890 Adventure R has a TFT that offers smartphone connectivity and access to other rider aids like ride modes, traction control, ABS modes, cruise control, and more.
Engine
Powering the KTM 890 Adventure is an 889cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes 103.2bhp and 100Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch too. While this is the same engine as the one used in the 890 Duke, the Adventure’s motor has been tuned to suffice its road, and touring purpose.
Hardware
KTM has equipped the 890 Adventure R with WP Apex 43mm front USD forks and a WP Apex monoshock, both adjustable. It sports a twin front and a single rear disc mounted on spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres. These are block pattern tyres which not only suffice the bike’s touring purpose but also for riding on broken roads.
Price
The asking price for the KTM 890 Adventure R is set at Rs. 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it rivals the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE and the BMW F 900 GS range.
