KTM has officially launched the 890 Adventure R in India at Rs. 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi. This is the Austrian brand’s second stint in the Indian market with its large-capacity motorcycles, and the range comprises quite a few interesting bikes. The KTM 890 Adventure R takes inspiration from the brand’s Dakar racing motorcycle and dons a tall stance overall. It is draped in orange and white and has muscular bodywork all over it, with an overall rugged design that is better suited for off-roading. The 890 Adventure R features a split LED headlight with boomerang-shaped DRLs and a large visor that tops it.
Powering the KTM 890 Adventure R is an 889cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that makes 103.2bhp and 100Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox that gets a quickshifter and a slipper clutch. Moreover, the 890 Adventure comes loaded with electronic rider aids like cornering ABS, traction control, ride modes, cruise control and off-road ABS settings as well. All the features can be toggled on the TFT screen which is smartphone compatible and offers turn-by-turn navigation, call and music control.
The KTM 890 Adventure R rides on WP Apex 43mm front USD forks and a WP Apex monoshock, both adjustable. It gets a twin front and a single rear disc mounted on spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres.
