The new KTM 890 Adventure R has finally gone on sale in India. The bike was previously displayed in India at the IBW in Goa and after what has been a long wait, Indian enthusiasts have a bike to upgrade to form their KTM 390 Adventure. Here’s a look at the bike in images.
The design of the 890 Adventure R is identifiable as a KTM. From the shape of the LED headlight to the fairings and slim tail, it is a purposeful-looking bike.
The KTM 890 Adventure R's 889cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor produces 103.2bhp and 100Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox with a quick-shifter and a slipper clutch.
The bike is also loaded with electronics such as cornering ABS, traction control, ride modes, cruise control and off-road ABS settings as well.
The 890 Adventure R has a steel frame with a WP Apex 43mm front USD forks and a WP Apex monoshock, both of which are adjustable. Braking duties are taken care of by twin discs at the front and a disc brake at the rear.
In terms of competition, the KTM 890 Adventure R goes up against the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro and BMW F 900 GS.
