-It is based on the upcoming 890 Duke
-Gets cosmetic revisions and accessories to make it touring-friendly
-Likely to be unveiled at the 2019 EICMA
KTM has been spotted testing the 890 Duke GT around its factory in Austria. And as its name suggests, will be based on the upcoming 890 Duke although with cosmetic revisions and accessories to make it touring capable.
The only design element that the 890 Duke GT borrows from the current 790 Duke is the top half of the fuel tank. The bike will feature a full-LED headlamp along with extended wind deflectors. It also gets a large side panel that hides the engine and a sump guard. The 890 Duke GT will offer a single-piece seat and upswept exhaust along with a top-box rack and side panniers to complete its touring character.
The 890 Duke GT is expected to be powered by the same engine as the 890 Duke which is likely to produce around 115-120bhp. The test mule was riding on alloy wheels with inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear sourced from WP. The 890 Duke GT’s electronic kitty could feature the same equipment like the 790 Duke which is loaded to the brim with rider aids.
KTM is likely to unveil the 890 Duke GT along with the 890 Duke at the upcoming 2019 EICMA in Italy. It will compete against the upcoming Triumph Tiger 900 and the BMW F750 GS.
