KTM re-entered the large-capacity motorcycle market in India with the launch of the 890 Duke R and several other models. Here are five things you must know about the 890 Duke R.
Design
The KTM 890 R’s design is similar to the 790 Duke of the yesteryear. It is still modern, sharp and can turn heads around. The 890 Duke gets a split LED headlight with LED DRLs around it. The 890 Duke R looks compact and gets angular bodywork all over. Its side profile appears quite clean, thanks to the upswept exhaust.
Features
Along with an LED headlight, the KTM 890 Duke R gets a TFT with smartphone connectivity, as well as lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, nine-level TC settings and three ride modes-Rain, Street and Sport.
Engine
Powering the KTM 890 Duke R is an 890cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that belts out 121 bhp and 99 Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch.
Hardware
The KTM 890 Duke R rides on WP Apex front forks and a WP monoshock. It has 17-inch alloy wheels with dual 320mm discs at the front with Brembo radial callipers and a 240mm disc with a Brembo single-piston floating calliper at the rear.
Price
The asking price of the KTM 890 Duke R is set at Rs. 14.50 lakh and it rivals the Triumph Street Triple RS.
