- KTM testing its touring accessories in India
- Likely to be available soon for the 390 Adventure
KTM has been scrutinising its touring accessories plonked on an Adventure test mule which was recently spotted testing in India. It’s certainly a hint that this KTM branded touring kit will be introduced in the country soon.
The same accessories were seen undergoing tests last year in Europe. Since they weren’t camouflaged as these ones, we had got a clearer sight of the kit. It includes side panniers and a top box apparently made up of hard plastic and feature zip lock. Owing to their compact dimensions, the accessories also blend aesthetically with the overall sharp and angular styling of KTM bikes.
Now, since the spy shots show a heavily-camouflaged motorcycle only from the rear, it’s hard to identify if it’s the 390 Adventure or the 250 Adventure. The latter makes for a stronger case as it is likely to be launched in India in the near future. The 250 Adventure utilizes the same 248.8cc engine as its naked sibling, the 250 Duke. The styling and most of the cycle parts are identical to the 390 Adventure. However, it might ditch some features such as an LED headlamp, TFT instrument cluster and quick shifter in order to keep the costs in check.
The KTM 250 Adventure will be a more accessible alternative over the 390 Adventure which costs Rs 3.04 lakh. The 250 ADV, meanwhile, should be priced somewhere around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
