KTM India has announced that it will extend the warranty and free service. The extension will be applicable on the vehicles whose warranty and free service period expire in March, April or May 2020 and it will be extended until 30 June 2020.
The company has extended the period to ensure that the customers do not lose the benefits during the lockdown in the country. The Government of India had announced a 21-day lockdown in the country to curb the Coronavirus spread.
In other updates, Pierer Industrie AG has temporarily suspended the production of KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas motorcycles due to the Coronavirus in Europe. The production in Europe has been suspended for two weeks, starting from 30 March until 10 April 2020.
Back home, Bajaj Auto, which manufactures entry-level KTM models such as the 125 Duke, 200 Duke, 250 Duke, 390 Duke, 390 Adventure, RC125, RC200 and the RC390, has suspended production at its plants in India until further notice. Bajaj Auto, too, has announced the extension of warranty on the original equipment and free service period on its respective motorcycles.
