It has been quite a while now since KTM started testing the RC series of motorcycles in India. Wesaw a flurry of images floating over the internet when the motorcycles were seen testing on public roads. Here, we have another set of images of the RC390/RC200.
We cannot confirm if this is the RC390 or the RC200 by just looking at these pictures of the bike. Nevertheless, these production-ready motorcycles might still be undergoing some final testing before the Austrian manufacturer prepares for the launch. The camouflaged two-wheeler hides most details, but we can see the clear similarities on comparing with images of the RC 390 and RC200 unveiled at the EICMA.
The presence of rear-view mirrors, indicators, visor and a number plate holder shows that the elements have been added to make it road legal. This production version test mule seems to have the same projector headlamp setup as seen in the pictures earlier. The manufacturer has not made any changes to the clip-on handle-bars as well. Majority of the components of the RC200 and RC390 are expected to be carried over from the naked siblings- the Duke 200 and the Duke 390 respectively.
The KTM RC 390 is powered by the same single cylinder 373cc engine that powers the naked Duke 390. This one churns out 43bhp of power and 35Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. Similar is the case with the RC 200, which will be powered by the 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine that churns out 25bhp of power and 19.2Nm of torque.
The RC390 and RC200, faired siblings of the Duke 390 and Duke 200 respectively, are two of the most awaited motorcycles from KTM in India. Test mules of these motorcycles have been spied many a times previously in Pune. We hope KTM India pleases the motorcycle enthusiasts and fans soon by launching both these bike in our country.
