KTM debunks 390 Adventure rumours

KTM has put to rest rumours of the 390 Adventure by clarifying that there is no plan to produce any adventure motorcycle based on the 390’s platform. We had put up a story two days ago based on a picture that had surfaced on the interweb of what appears to be a rather exciting adventure motorcycle. What made this picture so believable is that it appeared just a few days after a spy shot of the 1290 Adventure testing in Europe hit the internet. 

However, an interpretation of the statement issued by KTM by a large number of websites shows that while KTM has squashed the story of the 390 Adventure, it is something that the company might consider in the future. It will not happen on the current platform, the company says, as it supports only the development of naked and Supersport models.

We personally believe that KTM has already developed or put in place the path for developing such a motorcycle and will announce it to the world at an appropriate time. Reports also suggest that the BMW-TVS alliance is working on such a vehicle and that KTM will not want to be left behind when the bike is launched.
