Last year, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer had confirmed the development fully-faired version of the Duke 390. But now there are reports that KTM is developing a 250cc fully-faired motorcycle which will carry the design cues of the 1190 RC8 R. Also, this motorcycle will be sold globally as it will fit perfectly in the 250cc segment – we expect the launch to happen in early 2014. The new 250cc motorcycle might be called as the RC25 as it will be inspired by the RC8. This machine may have a power figure of around 30bhp and around 25Nm of torque.
The upcoming 250cc motorcycle will be manufactured in Bajaj’s Chakan plant and exported to the global markets. Currently the Chakan plant manufactures the Duke 125, the Duke 200 and the Duke 390 (for export market). Bajaj will also be importing few RC8 from Austria and display this machine in selected Pro-Biking showrooms in India. These will be only for display purpose and won’t be sold in India.
