KTM has announced the E-Mini, an electric competition bike for younger riders. The Austrian manufacturer will start production in 2019 and the bike will only be available in 2020.
The manufacturer has been developing the E-Mini since 2015 and has begun testing the bike. Like standard minibikes, it will feature smaller body proportions and wheels to make it accessible for young riders. Although technical details are unavailable, KTM claims that the electric bike is faster than the KTM 50SX, the bike it will eventually replace.
The E-Mini will be sold under KTM’s Freeride E range which includes the E-SX, E-SM and the recently launched 2018 E-XC. With experience from the existing models, KTM could improve the technology on the E-Mini and equip the bike with better battery technology.
It is highly unlikely that any of these bikes will be sold in India anytime soon.
